Department of Thoracic Surgery

Thoracic surgery functioned as a department as early as in 1954. Within this very department, an idea grew to cooperate with the Maribor Electro-engineering Club, which was later successfully realized. The result of this cooperation was the first Slovene device for heart and lung extracorporeal blood circuit.
